ERI TENORIO

ILLUSTRATOR + SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

Koi Murío, Tui Taewai, S-ke:g Tas, Buenas!

My name is Eri Tenorio (25yo, She/They). I am Nicaraguan-Mexican Indigenous from the Chorotega, Tohono O’odham, and Yaqui communities respectively and reside on my maternal traditional lands in Tucson, AZ. I’m an Illustrator + Printmaker and a SAHM to my 3yo son.

I’ve earned a BFA in Studio Art: Illustration & Design and B.A. in Latin American Studies and American Indian Studies from the University of Arizona. Currently starting grad school to pursue 2 M.A. 's in Art History & Visual Culture and Museum Studies; and later on work toward my PhD, as we need a Latino-Indigenous professor and museum educator in these fields!

Many of my academic writings and artworks have been about the Latin American and Indigenous historical, contemporary, and cultural experiences with my most notable work being the University of Arizona MAS Department’s COVID-Impact research publications on the Indigenous communities of Arizona in partnership with the University of Manitoba.

I am thrilled and honored to be joining SBI as an Illustrator and Social Media Manager and hope the work I create and provide will further help represent the mission and values of SBI.

Kupa Katsai, Chiokoe Uttesia, S-ap’o, Gracias!
