Our Emerging Leader Award is granted to applicants who demonstrate a deep commitment to addressing gender and sexual violence against Indigenous people, who are utilizing their studies to lead ongoing efforts to raise awareness, support survivors, or prevent future violence. Each Emerging Leader Award recipient is given a $500 honorarium.
ERIN TAIL
Erin Tail is a young Lakota and Northern Cheyenne youth living on the Puyallup tribal reservation. They are currently a full-time & working student at Saint Martins University, in the Masters of Arts in Counseling graduate program. A lot of their spare time is filled with beadwork, writing, drawing, going to traditional Lakota ceremonies, and reading books. Erin’s biggest dream is to combine traditional healing practices with modern modalities of counseling and therapy, walking with patients on the Red Road.
