Wa'tkwanonwaratons / Greetings I am Shara Francis-Herne, SBI's Director of Support Services. I am wolf clan from the Akwesasne Mohawk Territory located in so-called Canada and the United States. As Haudenosaunee we believe that we have a responsibility to seven generations, three generations of ancestors that came before us, our present generation, and the next three generations to come. This teaching guides my work at SBI as I make every decision with intention and consideration of the battles my ancestors have fought for me to be here today and understand that my impact will ripple across those generations yet to come. I have a diverse professional background working within Indigenous community, education, social justice and community building. I believe in the wholistic wellness of our Indigenous peoples across Turtle Island and the global community.
