DATA ANALYST

Cante' Nape' C'eyuzapei'

My name is Salley Kelley King and I am Sicangu Lakota and an enrolled member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe in Rosebud, South Dakota. I am currently a Junior High Science Teacher at Lame Deer Public Schools. I have two children and my daughter is a first year College student at MSU/Bozeman (Go Cats!) and my son is a Junior in High School at St. Labre Indian School.

I come from a long line of Educators and I believe education creates space for our indigenous people to become who they have always dreamed of becoming. My wish for our youth/peoples is that 'we never stop learning and to always become the best versions of ourselves'. I have always known about Sovereign Bodies Institute and the innovative work that is being done in the corporation and never had I thought I would become a team member. One does not truly know/understand the importance of an organization such as SBI unless your family has been touched by a tragic event that claims one of your relatives. I needed a way to honor my nephew, Alize' Millard, who lost his life so tragically, and the work I will be doing is going to be in his honor. Thank you for your time, Wopila Tanka.
